Informed Consumer (https://deals.crescentcitysystems.com) is a buying-guide site. You can read every page without an account, and we don't ask you for personal information. This page explains the little data that is collected when you visit and who collects it.
What we collect
Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views, referring sites, and general device and country information. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not track you across other sites. We only see totals, not individual visitors.
Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Email. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. We don't add you to any mailing list.
We don't run ads, we don't have user accounts or comment forms, and we don't sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Affiliate links and cookies
Many product links on this site are affiliate links, including links through the Amazon Associates program, FlexOffers, and other affiliate networks. When you click one, you leave our site and go to the retailer. The retailer or the affiliate network may set a cookie or use a similar identifier so they can credit us if you buy something. Those cookies are set by them, not us, and are covered by their own privacy policies. We receive commission reports, not your name or what else you bought.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them won't stop any page on this site from working, but it may mean we aren't credited for a purchase.

Our guides link to retailers and to sources we cite. We aren't responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, or to have it deleted. Since we collect almost none, there is usually nothing to hand over, but you can always ask at the address below and we'll answer.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
